Great Look, but Surprisingly Heavy and Warm
I have mixed feelings about this knitted dress. While the quality of the material is impressive, it presents some real practical challenges.
The Highlights
Material Quality: The knit is thick and substantial, which means it’s completely opaque—no need to worry about undergarments showing through.
Fit & Style: The look is fantastic, and the sizing is spot on. Since it’s stretchy, the length and fit are accurate and initially quite comfortable.
The Trade-offs
Heat & Breathability: Despite the knit holes, this fabric is NOT breathable at all. It gets warm very quickly, making it far too heavy for a tropical island wedding or any humid climate. It feels a bit ironic for a brand with this aesthetic.
Weight: The dress is quite heavy due to the thickness of the fabric, which affects the overall comfort over a long day.
Maintenance: I can imagine this being a nightmare to wash. Because it will absorb so much water and become even heavier, you'd strictly need to lay it flat to dry to prevent it from stretching completely out of shape.
Bottom line: It’s a beautiful, high-quality piece, but only if you’re wearing it somewhere with very strong air conditioning or in a much cooler and dry climate!
